According to reports, Julius Abure’s dismissal as the national chairman of the Labour Party (LP) was upheld by the Federal High Court in Abuja.
Additionally, the Court mandated that the National Caretaker Committee, chaired by Senator Nenadi Usman, be acknowledged as the legitimate leadership of the party by the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC.
Human rights attorney Inibehe Effiong revealed the event in a post on X, claiming to have been at the Federal High Court when the ruling in a related case was handed down.
According to Effiong, Justice Lifu’s ruling on Wednesday confirmed that Abure’s term had ended in accordance with a previous Supreme Court ruling, upholding the Nenadi Usman-led committee as the only legitimate and authorized head of the Labour Party.
As a result, the court ordered INEC to acknowledge Nenadi Usman as the party’s leader right away.
“I am currently before the Federal High Court in Abuja for a case,” he added. I heard the verdict in a different case.
The National Caretaker Committee, chaired by Senator Nnadi Esther Usman, was recently upheld by Honorable Justice Lifu as the sole legitimate and legitimate leadership of the Labour Party.
The judge reiterated that Julius Abure’s term had ended as a result of the Supreme Court’s ruling.
“The judge mandated that INEC immediately acknowledge Nnadi Usman.”
