After being held captive for 12 days, Eniola Olajuni, the National President of the Afenifere Youth Council, was freed.
Olajuni was kidnapped on Monday, February 17, 2025, while traveling to Abuja for a conference, as was previously mentioned.
Two tricycles and ₦100 million were sought as ransom by the kidnappers in order to free him.

But after a video of Olajuni, who was at gunpoint, pleading with Nigerians to help him and raise money for his release went viral, Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun ordered the Intelligence Response Team to be sent out on Wednesday to ensure the Afenifere Youth Leader’s safe release.
Punch was informed by Biodun Aderohunmu, the Youths Council’s National Secretary, that Olajuni had been freed.
