The members of the Osun State House of Assembly have jointly voiced their support for Governor Ademola Adeleke, backing him for a second term ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
Adewumi Adeyemi, representing the Obokun State Constituency, sponsored the motion for this vote of confidence, which was seconded by Taofiq Olayiwola of the Ede South State Constituency.
This endorsement was claimed to have occurred during a plenary session on Tuesday, when the 26-member Assembly, which included 25 members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and one member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), demonstrated their unshakable support for the governor.
During the session, Speaker Adewale Egbedun praised the governor’s accomplishments on the occasion of his 65th birthday, recognizing his dedication to the progress of Osun State and his five-point plan.
The Speaker stated that the MPs, as representatives of the people, are proud of the governor’s leadership and encourage him to achieve even greater success.

Simeon Popoola, a politician from the Boripe-Boluwaduro State Constituency, paid a passionate homage to the governor, praising his integrity and authenticity.
He stated, “Putting politics aside, Mr Governor is a straightforward, loving, and sincere person. These characteristics have considerably aided his performance.
Following the motion, the Speaker requested a vote, which the chamber approved.
