On Friday, former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose referred to Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory’s Minister, as a bulldozer that the Governors’ Forum, PDP, and Peoples Democratic Party must use with caution.
If the PDP governors and Wike cannot come to an agreement, Fayose cautioned, the party might not have a presidential candidate in 2027.
In an interview with Politics Today on Channels TV, Fayose cautioned PDP governors and party officials against ignoring Wike’s recent warning.
“To further the party’s interests, the governors and the party leadership should find common ground with Wike,” the former governor said.
He remarked: “I want to quickly warn you that this Wike you are seeing is like a bulldozer, which you need to control or steer clear of.” You should be aware of an issue when someone says, “I’ll be at your house at a certain time,” and then he shows there.

According to the Wike fragments I saw before, “I’m warning now, I have said my own now.” We need to fix this issue by finding common ground before turmoil [erupts] because you can’t build something on nothing.
If the Supreme Court rules that Anyanwu is the National Secretary, then all prior rulings are null and void from the beginning. Where will this end? Who will submit a nominee to INEC? Who is unable to serve alone, Anyanwu or the National Chairman?
“We need to proceed with caution, to be honest—I haven’t met Wike in a long time—but proceed with caution. If you don’t believe me now, you’ll remember what Fayose told you when it comes back to haunt you.
“With all due respect to Buhari, what are you saying? I informed Nigerians in this way that he would ruin this country, and they all yelled at me to let him run his government, which he has done and left you hurt.
“A Wike says that if you disregard the Supreme Court’s ruling, then whatever occurs, then so be it. However, I want the governors to work with him to advance the party; if not, I want to think that the PDP would not have a candidate. It becomes an issue if you give in to Wike’s manipulation.
