The South-West Security Stakeholders Group (SSSG) has issued a warning to bandits and other “bad elements” to stay away from the region or face the group’s wrath.
They made the announcement soon after an emergency meeting in Lagos.
The group said there were feelings that bandits had perfected plans to strike in the South-West in a statement signed by the convener and the Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams, and the secretary, Alhaji Owolabi Amusat.

“On this note, the SSSG has determined that bolstering security operations in our region is necessary. We also charge the police and other security agencies in the region to maintain vigilance in ensuring the region’s security. Any attempt to invade the South West will result in both economic and political disaster, according to the statement.
Shehu Gumi’s visit to Igboho town was also dismissed by the group, who claimed it was an attempt to mock and undermine Yoruba activists and freedom fighters.
