Bandits have killed Mallam Idris Abu Sufyan, the principal of Government Secondary School (GSS), Kuriga, in the Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Mallam Sufyan was killed on Friday night after thwarting a kidnapping attempt by bandits who also kidnapped two women during the attack, according to Shehu Sani, a former lawmaker who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly from 2015 to 2019. Sani made this announcement on Saturday in a post on X.

Acknowledging the occurrence, Aminu Auwal, one of Sufyan’s coworkers, wrote on Facebook that Sufyan was a kind and devoted person who stayed in the village in spite of frequent bandit attacks.
“I regret to notify you of the death of our esteemed colleague, Malir Abu Suffyan, the principal of GSS Kuriga (SNR), at the hands of bandits who also abducted his wife and their infant son. May the All-Powerful Allah grant him Aljannatul firdausi and pardon his transgressions. “Amen,” he wrote.
“Allah sarki Abusufyan Idrees, you had the option to immediately leave Kuriga village, but you opted to remain with your community. In his younger years, he taught kids football in the area and served as the principal of the GSS when he was living.
Even though there were tense attacks by armed bandits in his community, he decided to stay, and he lived his entire life trying to improve the world for young people and make his small town famous. However, he paid the price with his life when the bandits broke into his home, shot him dead, and took his wife. Another coworker, Manajer Deeni, added, “RIP Abusufyan.”
