In Abuja on Thursday, Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate for the general election of 2023, attended the welcome ceremony for newly elected and reelected governors who ran on the party platform.
On Thursday night, he tweeted pictures from the event along with the statement, “This afternoon, I joined other party leaders at the welcome reception for newly elected and returning governors, as well as send-forth for outgoing governors of our great party, the #OfficialPDPNig.
“While congratulating the outgoing governors for flying the flag of our party high with pride, I urge the incoming governors to set the standard for good governance in their respective states—as the PDP’s hallmark. -AA.”
Godwin Obaseki, the governor of Edo State, Darius Ishaku, the governor of Taraba, Ahmadu Fintiri, the governor of Adamawa, Namadi Sambo, the former vice president, Ahmed Makarfi, the former governor of Kaduna State, and Senator Adolphus Wabara, the acting chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees, were among those present.
