Following their 6-0 victory over West Brom in the Carabao Cup second round, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta praised debutant Aaron Ramsdale and Martin Odegaard.
Following back-to-back 2-0 defeats in the Premier League to Brentford and Chelsea, it was the Gunners’ first victory of the season.
Nicolas Pepe, Bukayo Saka, and Alexandre Lacazette all scored, with captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang netting a hat-trick.
“The team’s attitude from the beginning [was good],“ Arteta said to Sky Sports. We were disappointed that we were unable to win the league’s first two games.
“When you lose a match, the most important thing is to win the next one to regain confidence. We were able to score some impressive goals.”

This was Odegaard’s and Ramsdale’s first season together.
“They’re both excellent,” Arteta continued. Martin provides us with something unique that no other player can provide.
“Aaron appeared to be in a great deal of comfort. He’s got a lot of charisma.”
