The National Executive Council (NEC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has resolved to hold a national convention in December to elect new national officials for the ruling party.
The resolution was reached at the NEC meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House on Thursday.
The APC NEC, on the recommendation of President Buhari, had dissolved the National Working Committee of the party during the meeting.
The party subsequently appointed Yobe State Governor, Mala Buni, as the chairman of its new caretaker committee and extraordinary national convention.
At the scheduled extraordinary national convention, the APC is expected to vote to replace Adams Oshiomhole as its National Chairman.
