Former President Goodluck Jonathan is welcome to join the All Progressives Congress (APC), according to the party.
Senator John Akpanudoedehe, the APC’s National Secretary, stated this on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday night.
According to Akpanudoedehe, Jonathan, like every other new member, will be given the same rights and privileges as all other members, regardless of when they joined.
He said this in response to a question about whether rumors that the party was courting Jonathan to join and run for president in the 2023 general elections were true.
“I’m not going to speculate.” Everyone is welcome to join the APC, and we encourage everyone to do so. In terms of our progressive agenda, we are becoming more powerful. For the first time, I’m hearing that if he comes, we’ll welcome him, which is fantastic news.
