APC No Longer Symbolizes Hope for Nigerians – Amaechi Declares

The failure of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to instill optimism in Nigeria for a better future, according to former Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi, forced him to quit the party.
Recall that Amaechi had previously declared that he no longer belongs to the ruling party, claiming that the APC is no longer in existence.
In his letter of resignation dated July 1, 2025, to the APC Chairman in Ward 8, Ubima, Ikwerre Local Government Area, Rivers State, the former governor characterized the APC as a party of failure, suffering, and torment with no compassion for the people.

Amaechi claims that he decided to leave the party because he was determined to work with other patriotic Nigerians “to rescue our dear nation from the fangs of failure, pain and anguish which the All Progressives Congress now symbolizes.”

He went on to say, “After extensive consultations, I am certain that now is the right time to dissolve the party because it has strayed from the high ideals that led to its creation and is therefore no longer able to give Nigerians hope for a better future. In order to begin a new journey toward Nigeria’s liberation, I have decided to team up with well-meaning fellow citizens.

Among the leaders of the opposition coalition established in 2027 to overthrow President Bola Tinubu’s current administration is Amaechi.
