In an effort to improve paperwork and fortify the party’s internal structure, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has started its electronic membership registration process in all 36 of the federation’s states as well as the Federal Capital Territory.
The party’s National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, made the announcement on Wednesday through a tweet on his verified 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) account.
Yilwatda claims that the registration and certification process will be carried out at the ward level across the country, guaranteeing party members’ grassroots involvement.
He clarified that both current and potential members of the ruling party are included by the effort.
The APC chairman said, “New and prospective members are kindly encouraged to register and become part of the progressive family, while all existing members are expected to validate their membership online.”
According to Yilwatda, the exercise was essential to insuring complete member involvement in APC operations, strengthening the party, and maintaining accurate records.
A reliable and current membership list, he continued, would improve internal democracy and decision-making within the party.
He stated, “The exercise is essential for proper documentation, party strengthening, and full participation in APC activities and decision-making.”
The APC chairman reiterated the initiative’s significance and characterized the e-membership drive as a step toward creating a more cohesive and resilient party.
According to Yilwatda, “a stronger register means a stronger party and a more united progressive movement.”
Additionally, he exhorted party members and allies to view the exercise as a chance to reaffirm their dedication to the party and democratic principles.
“Let’s take advantage of this chance to strengthen our democracy, reaffirm our dedication, and advance together,” he continued.
