The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has dissolved all wards, states, zonal, and national party structures of the party.
The decision was taken at the ongoing NEC meeting which has President Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbanjo and other chieftains of the party in attendance.
The party’s NEC also extended the tenure of the party’s caretaker extraordinary convention planning committee led by Governor Mai Buni by six months.
Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, told State House correspondents at the end of the meeting that the party also approved the expulsion of former National Vice Chairman, South-south, Ntufam Hilliard Eta, for his failure to withdraw the court case instituted against the caretaker committee.
On June 25, following the recommendations of President Buhari, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party (APC), led by Adams Oshiomhole, was dissolved.
A Caretaker/Extraordinary National Convention Committee was then appointed to be led by Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State. Buni was national secretary of the APC until his election as governor in 2019.
