APC denies Atiku’s allegation of influencing court cases

The presidential candidate for the People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, accused the All Progressives Congress of plotting to intimidate judges in order to improperly influence the outcomes of cases that are currently before the court. The APC has denied this claim.

In a statement released on Saturday in Abuja, Mr. Felix Morka, the national publicity secretary for the APC, claimed that Abubakar and his party had not provided any proof to back up their claims that the presidential election on February 25 was marred by irregularities.

Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s presidential candidate, made a press statement that caught our attention.

The APC and its government are accused in the statement of plotting to intimidate judges in order to improperly influence the results of cases that are currently before the court.

“Atiku Abubakar and his henchmen provided no evidence to back up their irrational, baseless, and nefarious accusations.

The APC should not have responded to Abubakar’s statement, Morka asserted bluntly.

The statement, he continued, lacked substance and cogency, and its only conceivable use was as a clumsy attempt to offer a plausible explanation in order to divert attention from the shame of what was almost certainly going to be a legal defeat.

This was after the former vice president failed to present a convincing argument to support his false claim that he won the most recent presidential election, he continued.

The election was easily won by President Bola Tinubu and our party. In accordance with our Constitution and all relevant laws, we have complete faith and confidence in our courts to administer electoral justice, Morka emphasized.
