According to Joe Igbokwe, a prominent member of Lagos State’s All Progressives Congress (APC), President Bola Tinubu is certain to hold onto power until 2031.

The president, who assumed office in 2023 after defeating Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), will hold office for two consecutive terms, Igbokwe announced in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
Igbokwe said the president’s second term, if he runs for reelection, will last until 2031, even though Tinubu’s first term is scheduled to finish in 2027.

In addition, he counseled other presidential contenders to reevaluate their goals for 2027.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (PBAT) is set to hold the presidency until 2031, thus if any presidential contender hopes to win in 2027, I will encourage them to give up on that goal until 2031. It will take him eight years to correct the record, Igbokwe stated.
