The All Progressives Congress (APC) expressed its congratulations to Governor Monday Okpebholo for his victory in the Appeal Court.
The APC stated that Okpebholo’s triumph over Asue Ighodalo, the PDP candidate, was in agreement with the Edo people’s decision during the election.
Reports indicate that Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of APC, called on Ighodalo to collaborate with Okpebholo in state development in a statement made on Friday.
The APC extended its praise to the Appeal Court for maintaining the decision of the Edo Tribunal regarding its candidate’s win.
The ruling party stated that Okpebholo, with his victory, would keep providing the people of Edo with the benefits of democracy.
The statement states, “The All Progressives Congress (APC) extends its congratulations to the Executive Governor of Edo State, His Excellency Sen. Monday Okpebholo, and his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Denis Idahosa, on their Court of Appeal victory.
“On Thursday, May 29, 2025, a three-man panel of the Appeal Court issued a landmark ruling that upheld the Edo State Governorship Tribunal’s earlier confirmation of Governor Okpebholo’s victory in the September 21, 2024, governorship election.

“Our great Party commends the judiciary for demonstrating independence and professionalism in its decision, which once again upholds the will of the good people of Edo State.
“We are assured that this win will give a boost to the Governor, as his transformative leadership is echoing throughout the state, in his efforts to provide the people of Edo with the benefits of democracy.
“We call on the candidate of the People Democratic Party, Asue Ighodalo, to put aside his sword and collaborate with the Governor in his steadfast commitment to achieving significant development in the state for everyone’s benefit.”
