There was considerable concern at Eagle Square, the location of the All Progressives Congress (APC) national conference, when delegates heard rumors that certain governors could attempt to undo the consensual accord struck on the national chairmanship.
Certain speculated Saturday evening that the long delay in the event’s start was due to some governors’ threats to abandon the agreement on Senator Abdulahi Adamu as the consensus candidate for the job and instead instruct their state delegates to vote for someone else.
There was also talk that some were considering staging a walkout similar to the Peoples Democratic Party’s experience in 2014. (PDP).
Some speculated that President Buhari was failed to depart the presidential house more than three hours after he was due to arrive at the site because he was attempting to silence any opposition before travelling to the event.
Delegates, party supporters, and observers were still waiting for the President’s arrival at the time of this report, while being entertained by artists from all around the nation.

Governor Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State indicated to the delegates about 6.50 p.m. that the party was still striving to obtain an agreement on all posts so that no election would be necessary.
The governor said that it was President Buhari’s wish.
He said that at least 20 positions had been agreed upon.
Hadi Sirika, the Minister of Aviation, also spoke and urged the delegates to be patient.
