Annie Macaulay Confirms Divorce from 2Baba at Headies

During the 17th Headies Awards on Sunday night, Annie, a Nollywood actress and the estranged wife of Nigerian music icon Innocent “2Baba” Idibia, formally stated their divorce.
After remaining silent on the matter for several months, the actress reportedly spoke up when she co-presented the Best Afrobeat Singer of the Year award.
Following his legendary performance at the 2024 Ojude Oba festival, Farooq Oreagba—widely hailed as the “King of Steeze”—shared the stage with her.
Annie swiftly corrected her name after pausing to speak it during her introduction, making it obvious that she had changed her status.

“Idi Annie… Ah! I apologize, Macaulay Annie. Women without partners, take note! The audience cheered and applauded enthusiastically as she made her announcement.

This official confirmation follows speculation earlier in the year when Annie reappeared on social media in March, around two months after 2Baba declared their split, signing off with her full name, Annie Uwana Macaulay, prominently excluding the Idibia last name.

When 2Baba announced their separation, the ex-couple, who have two children together, formally called it quits on their marriage in January 2025.

Two Baba has moved on since the split and made a proposal to Natasha Osawaru, a legislator from Edo State. Many people in Benue State are speculating about an impending wedding because he has also introduced her to his family and community.
