Nyesom Wike, the state governor, has been referred to as a drunk who spends N50 million on alcohol every week and should not be given a third term through his stooge by the governor of Rivers State, Rt Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.
Amaechi made this statement on Tuesday while running for office against Tonye Cole in the Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area. While there, he met with the Oba of Ogba land, Eze Chukwumela Nnam Obi II, visited the residents of Omoku, Ndoni, Egbema, and Obrikom, as well as Eze Osoh, the Usomini of Obrikom.
Amaechi claimed that Wike was underpaying the people of Rivers and wasting state resources by spending nearly as much on alcohol in two weeks as he did to construct one primary school during his tenure as governor.

“The person Wike buys alcohol from, said Wike spends 50 million naira on alcohol every week,” the accuser claimed. We spent 112 million naira on the primary schools, which means that in just two weeks, Wike has only drank one of them. Wike speaks under the influence of alcohol. Furthermore, he is so brazen about it. Wike announced live on television that he was consuming an extremely expensive 40-year-old whiskey in the morning.
“We are requesting impartiality from INEC. The populace has disapproved of Wike and his administration. People were jumping on top of me and shouting in every street I went. They remembered that I didn’t dance; I built five flyovers. We hired 400 new doctors, purchased cars for 600 doctors, and purchased ambulances for every health facility. When we inspected primary schools to find out what was going on, we found that there were no teachers, so we hired 13,200. Every school had a contractor working there to keep it up to par by the time I stepped down as governor. Where are the schools Wike (the builder) constructed? Amaechi remarked.
Tonye Cole is the best candidate for governor and ought to be elected to lead the State, Amaechi explained to the locals during separate visits to the communities.

“Compare Tonye and the other man, then evaluate Wike’s government against ours. Did Wike work with electricity or schools? We handled your healthcare. Why won’t you invest in Tonye Cole when you see how he transitioned from business to politics? Vote now; this is your chance. Things will alter once we triumph. He promised to reinstate the free education.
Amaechi had previously visited Iloabuchi in Port Harcourt, where the local business community had pledged to support Tonye Cole and the APC, saying, “We know you, you are tested okay. And we are confident that Tonye Cole, who you are bringing, won’t let us down.
