Agitation for Igbo president grows
A PAN-Ohanaeze Ndigbo socio-political organization, Conference of Igbo Professionals Worldwide (COIPOW), has begun intensive campaigns, meetings, and even lobbying to make sure the Southeast produces the president in 2023.
The team slammed the creation of a security outfit by the pioneer of proscribed Indigenous individuals of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu, saying that the move would hamper the strategy since most leaders would view it in a poor light and withdraw their support.

The announcement reads:”We thank crucial Igbo leaders that attended our crisis assembly in Awka, Anambra State, where we deliberated and agreed on pushing for Igbo president at 2023.
“This is a certain thing to do, and not the manner Kanu wants. The gunpoint strategy by Kanu isn’t the way outside, and he must be told so.
“Igbo men and women deserve the presidency at that time. They’ve all it takes to produce the next president, and that’s what we should be pushing for now with one strong voice in unity and sincerity of purpose.

“We can’t be rough for president one hand and supporting IPOB on the opposite hand. Nobody will take us severely if we do not take urgent steps to set the record straight by denouncing IPOB, its sponsors, and founder.
Forming this militia group once we should be seen as calm and law-abiding isn’t the best. Let it be known that IPOB and ESN do not possess our blessings and will never do.
