Afenifere, a Yoruba socio-political organization, has reacted to Sunday Igboho’s release.
The release of Igboho, according to Afenifere’s National Publicity Secretary, Jared Ajayi, is a victory for self-determination.
He stated that the Southwest’s socio-political body and people are pleased with the agitator’s release.
“Sunday Adeyemo Igboho’s release is a victory indicator for all those who believe in personal liberty and a people’s right to self-determination,” he told Vanguard in Lagos on Monday.

On Monday, the Igboho people in Cotonou, Benin Republic, regained their independence.

Ilana Omo Oodua Worldwide, the umbrella body of Yoruba Self-determination Groups, released a statement about the development.
Prof. Banji Akintoye, the leader of the Igboho IOO, was handed over by the government of Benin Republic, according to the spokesman.
