Senator Ademola Adeleke has been declared the winner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primary held at the Osogbo City stadium in Osun State.

This comes as Prince Dotun Babayemi won a separate competition held at the WOCDIF centre in the state capital.

Senator Lawrence Ewurujakpo, the Bayelsa State Deputy Governor who led the party’s national congress committee, announced the results of the election held at the stadium, saying Senator Ademola received 1887 votes to win, while Mr Sanya Omirin received only four votes.

“We hereby collectively declare Adeleke Ademola Jackson as the winner of the PDP gubernatorial primary election in Osun, by the power conferred on me as the Chief Returning Officer of this gubernatorial primary.”

“Any other primary held outside of this location is void and will be disregarded.” The throne, the palace, and the authority are all present. “Any exercise that is not completed here will not be recognized,” he stated.

Senator Adeleke urged other aspirants to join him in rescuing the state from the All Progressives Congress’s misgovernance in his acceptance speech.

“There is no victor and no vanquished.” We are all victorious. Let us join forces to save the people of Osun state from the current APC administration. The people of Osun have already suffered enough under the current APC administration. Every day, pensioners pass away. Salaries are not being paid on time or at all. Our roads are in desperate need of repair. There is no way to bring water with you.

“Many of our communities are in the dark due to a lack of electricity, a lack of job opportunities for graduates, and a hostile environment for self-employment.” “I urge everyone to join hands with the good people of Osun state, and by God’s grace, the PDP will win on July 16, 2022,” he said.

Meanwhile, former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Erelu Olusola Obada, and Alhaji Shuaib Oyedokun attended the Wale Ojo faction’s exercise at WOCDIF, which produced Babayemi as its candidate.

The Chief Returning Officer, Hon Adelani Ajanaku, announced the results at WOCDIF, saying Dotun Babayemi received 1,781 votes and Sanya Omirin received 16.
