Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, the two past presidential contenders, have been characterized by African Democratic Congress (ADC) leader Fabiyi Oladimeji as the two princes inside the coalition party, each pursuing a shared objective.
According to reports, Oladimeji stated in an interview on Arise Television’s “Prime Time” that since Peter Obi joined the ADC, there has been a persistent attack on Atiku, a member of the same opposition party, rather than unity within the party and coalition.
He claims that politics is about interests, but since Atiku and Peter Obi are members of the same coalition, there is no justification for their followers to disparage one another.
“Power, not poetry, governs Nigeria,” he declared. And those who shout justice the loudest typically don’t have the most influence. Those that comprehend the dynamics are the ones who protect it.
“The ADC has two principalities. Both Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar are independent principals. We also have people like Rotimi Amaechi and Nasir El-Rufai.
This is not new to us. These are all not brand-new. I want to advise Nigerians to maintain their composure. The ADC is the vehicle that will transport everyone, and something will come together.
David Mark, a seasoned man, is currently in charge of ADC. He cannot have it taken away from him. Additionally, the vision is crystal clear.
Since politics is about interests, the followers of Atiku and Peter Obi who are creating noise have the right to do so. And I’m glad Atiku boldly stated, “No, you don’t do this.”
“There is absolutely no justification for the “Obidients” and the “Atikulates” to attack one another because they are fighting for the same cause and are part of the same coalition.”
