Despite challenges, our judiciary remains one of the best, according to Magnus Abe, a former senator who represented Rivers Southeast District.

He spoke at an interactive session with youths and young professionals in Port Harcourt, River State’s capital, over the weekend.

Abe claimed that the Nigerian judiciary had produced eminent jurists throughout Africa, and that Nigerian court judgments were cited all over the world.

The former lawmaker emphasized the importance of leaders being accountable to their constituents, stating that it was unethical for a leader to claim that there was no money while living in luxury.
He also emphasized the importance of members of society being ready for change by doing the right thing.

He believes that a society cannot keep doing the same thing year after year and expect a different outcome.

Abe claimed that the new Electoral Act had given people in villages and towns the opportunity to elect the right people to govern them.

He claimed that the government should create investment opportunities for youths in order to create jobs, and he blamed the massive exodus of investors from the state on too much disruption.
