Napoli have turned down a mammoth €200m bid from Paris Saint-Germain for Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen and his teammate Kvicha Kvaratskhelia, According Sports Extra reports.
According to Italy’s Corriere dello Sport, the French champions tabled the mega offer in an attempt to secure the services of both players. However, Napoli are only willing to consider offers for Osimhen this summer.
PSG’s interest in both players is well documented, but Napoli remain firm in their stance regarding Kvaratskhelia. The Georgian international is considered indispensable, and the club have no intention of parting with him this summer.
Osimhen, who has been heavily linked with a move away from the former Serie A champions, has a release clause in his contract reportedly set at €130m. However, with a lack of concrete proposals, Napoli may be open to negotiating a lower fee for the Nigeria international.
PSG’s interest in the duo comes as no surprise, with the French side desperately seeking marquee signings to fill the void left by Kylian Mbappé’s impending free transfer to Real Madrid.
Newly appointed Napoli head coach Antonio Conte recently provided an update on Osimhen’s situation, stating, “I spoke to Victor, and there are no changes to his situation. He’s a top player.
“He’s a Napoli player today, so he needs to work hard, even if we’ve reached an agreement (for his potential exit), and still we don’t know the outcome of this story.”
Osimhen has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Manchester United, and Chelsea, but no team have yet matched Napoli’s valuation.
In a poor 2023/24 season where the Parthenopeans won only 13 games, lost 11, and drew 14, Osimhen still managed to post a relatively good figure, scoring 15 goals and providing three assists in 25 league appearances.
As the transfer saga continues, Napoli have already begun reinforcing their squad, securing the signature of Torino and Italy defender Alessandro Buongiorno for a reported €35m plus €5m in bonuses. The 24-year-old has penned a contract until 2029, with an annual salary of €2.5m.
