Super Falcons captain and Atletico Madrid forward, Rasheedat Ajibade, is delighted at the club’s achievements in the 2023/24 Spanish Liga Feminine season and already looking ahead to next season’s Women’s Champions League, According Sports Extra reports.
The 24-year-old scored 10 goals and provided four assists to help Atletico finish the season third on the log behind giants Barcelona and Real Madrid, including the winner in the final day’s fixture against Villarreal, which earned them 61 points and guaranteed them the last UEFA Champions League spot ahead of Levante with 60 points.
The former FC Robo woman, who was voted the club’s Player of The Season, celebrated the feat as she reflected on the campaign, thanking all concerned in an Instagram post on Thursday.
The post read, “The 2023–2024 season comes to a close, and what a season it’s been! We stand here today, humbled and grateful, to celebrate our incredible achievement: qualifying for the Champions League!
“First and foremost, all the glory to God. Through his strength and guidance, we persevered through every challenge.

Ajibade started 25 of 30 appearances in her fourth season with Atletico Madrid following her arrival at the club on January 1, 2021 from Norway’s Avaldsnes for an undisclosed fee.
