NiDCOM, VON decide to collaborate on enhancing Nigeria’s reputation

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) have agreed to work together on the “Data Collection Survey on Transport and Logistics Sector in Nigeria” project.

This was made public yesterday during the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency Headquarters in Abuja visit by a delegation from JICA led by Mr. Yamauchi.

The JICA survey project seeks to gather data and offer suggestions for enhancing policies, bolstering infrastructure, and raising service standards provided by operators, primarily in the port, land, and water transportation sectors.

The delegation leader stated that FERMA, a significant player in the road transport industry, is required to supply data for the JICA survey, including the road network map, the road length summary table, and maps illustrating the state of the roads and their corresponding summary tables.

Speaking, FERMA’s Acting Managing Director, Engr. Ini L. Usoro, expressed gratitude to JICA for their interest in the Nigerian market and said the agency is ready to collaborate with them from data collection to the conversion of that data into information that can be used for decision-making in the nation’s road sector.

The Managing Director stated in a statement signed by Assistant Director (Information) Iyogun Asobumeh Sunday for Director (Communication and Public Relations) that the support for JICA would strengthen the bonds between the two nations.
