Kidnapers of RCCG elder demand N50m  ransom

Simply known as Pa Adeife Ifelaja, a 70-year-old piggery farmer and elder with a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Ijebu Igbo, headquarters of Ijebu North Local Government Area, has been kidnapped.

It is reported that Pa Adeife was taken nine days later at his home in Ijebu Igbo, while getting ready to go to the Crossover ceremony to celebrate the start of the New Year, and that he was being detained in the kidnappers’ den.

A reliable source informed our correspondent that the kidnappers had contacted the family and requested a N50 million ransom.

According to the informant, “Yes, it is true that on Sunday, December 31, 2023, while getting ready for the Crossover service, Pa Adeife was abducted. The family reported that the N50 million that the kidnappers are requesting is enormous. Although I’m not sure if the ransom was paid, I had heard they were in talks for N10 million. At the Ijebu Igbo police station, the event was reported.

The state command operators were making every effort to guarantee the farmer’s release and reunion with his family, according to Commissioner of Police Abiodun Alamutu, who confirmed the occurrence.

“The cops have been working to get the man freed,” Alamutu stated. “We are on it even though the kidnappers have been trying to mislead us about their location, but we are on their trail and very soon, we shall achieve success.”
