GM warns against attacking LASBCA officials

The Lagos State Building Control Agency has denounced the growing assaults that its law enforcement officers are facing while doing their official responsibilities.

During a routine surveillance exercise in Musical Village, Awolowo Road, in the Ikorodu area of the state, several agency officials were attacked, according to Mr. Gbolahan Oki, General Manager of LASBCA.

The authorities, according to Oki, were taken captive for hours after being attacked with weapons and charms.

He did, however, assert that the LASBCA will not back down from enforcing safe and secure buildings throughout the state, even in the face of intimidation or harassment.

“These attackers not only hounded our personnel for hours, but they also obstructed them. These disrespectful actions won’t stop us from doing our jobs, though.

“Thank goodness, we fought off these onslaught without suffering any losses. Overcoming the attackers and averting more serious consequences has been made possible by our staff’s tenacity and prompt reactions. These are the kinds of obstacles we deal with on a daily basis in our efforts to guarantee that state facilities are secure and suitable for rehabilitation, Oki said in a statement on Thursday.

The general manager of the LASBCA urged the public to comprehend and assist the organization in its efforts to stop the threat of building collapses throughout the state, pointing out that instances of harassment and attacks frequently put the organization’s monitoring operations in jeopardy and may even pose serious risks to the public.
