An investigation into the attack on a supermarket in One Man Village, close to Mararaba in the Karu Local Government Area of the state, has been ordered by Umar Nadada, the Commissioner of Police for Nasarawa State, and the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigative Department in Lafia.
The supermarket was allegedly stormed by four armed guys who killed four customers.
Around 8:45 p.m. on Tuesday, the event is reported to have occurred.
One of the deceased people was heard to have an identity card from the Central Bank of Nigeria in the footage that our correspondent was able to collect right after the tragedy.
The event was verified by Ramhan Nansel, the spokesperson for the Nasarawa police.
The Deputy Commissioner in charge of SCID was instructed by the CP to look into the event, he said, noting that four people had died in it.
“To confirm that on January 2, 2024, some hoodlums numbering four attacked the Wisdom Supermarket at Adehi, Karu Local Government Area, shooting intermittently,” Nasel stated. Four people were found and rushed to the hospital after the armed guys opened fire on the patrons; the physicians pronounced them dead upon arrival.
“The Maraba Medical Center has received their bodies. The State Criminal Investigative Department’s deputy commissioner of police in Lafia has been instructed by the commissioner of police to investigate the case thoroughly and promptly respond to the scene. We’ll make the investigation’s conclusion public.
