The sale and use of fireworks throughout the state throughout the holiday season has been outlawed by the Nasarawa State Police Command.

In a statement on Thursday in Lafia, issued by DSP Ramhan Nansel, the Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Umar Nadada, the state commissioner of police, stated as much.

Divisional police personnel were instructed by Nadada to guarantee complete adherence and enforcement.

“The risks connected with it, such as its potential for use by criminals to incite conflict and commit crimes, make the ban necessary.

He went on, “Others have a high tendency to cause bodily injuries and fire outbreaks.”

The CP issued an immediate cease-fire warning to fireworks vendors and users.

Additionally, he pleaded with parents and guardians to dissuade their kids and wards from purchasing and using fireworks since those found guilty would be subject to the harshest penalties possible.
