In an attack on Chibok town in Borno State’s Chibok Local Government Area on Tuesday, Boko Haram militants left two people dead and numerous others injured.

Around 300 students were kidnapped by rebels in April 2014, which brought the town to national attention.

About seven o’clock on Tuesday night was the most recent attack.

The rebels went on the rampage, shooting, destroying houses, and stealing food supplies, according to a local named Moses Adamu. Residents fled into the nearby bushes.

While some families may have sought safety in nearby communities, Adamu stated that the majority of the population passed the night in the bushes.

The terrorists’ gunshots killed two people, for sure, but there may have been more, too, as those who escaped began going home this afternoon, the speaker added.

A combined team of the military, police, and local vigilante responded quickly to the attack, according to the Borno State Police Command, which confirmed it.

ASP Nahum Kenneth, the state police public relations officer, stated, “The attack was repelled by the joint effort of the military and the police.”

Sadly, the attack claimed the lives of two people: Mr. Badi, who was 75 years old, and Ngule, who was 45.

However, Kenneth continued, “things are now back to normal.”
