According to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), the Supreme Court’s decision on Friday to send their leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, back to the high court is a scheme to keep him incarcerated.
The group urged the world community to pay attention, stating that the judges of the Supreme Court should be held accountable if there is any disruption of law and order in Nigeria during this time.
IPOB stated in a news release signed by Mr. Emma Powerful, the group’s publicity secretary: “The Supreme Court’s decision to remand the matter to a lower court for judgment is a staged comedy performance intended to postpone and thwart Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s right to justice.
“The prejudiced and misguided ruling by the Supreme Court against Mazi Nnamdi demonstrates that the justices of the court are working along with the Nigerian government to uphold injustice against Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB.
“How can the justices of the Supreme Court both condemn and indirectly justify the international kidnapping and extraordinary rendition of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu?”
Is the Supreme Court of Nigeria set up to function outside of international legislation that prohibits extraordinary rendition? Or did the Justices of the Supreme Court simply say what they wanted to say?
“The Nigeria Supreme Court Justices should be held accountable if there is any disruption of law and order in Nigeria during this time, according to a notification from IPOB Worldwide to the international community.
“It is regrettable that the justices of the Supreme Court have become instruments of oppression for those who oppress others.”
Additionally, the organization charged that President Bola Tinubu was targeting Igbos with an ethnic agenda.
