Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris promises to pay all healthcare workers’ stipend on time.
On Monday, the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ahmed Idris, said the guarantee was used to retain experienced medical staff.
The statement stated the governor made the promise during a luncheon honoring 13 indigenous medical doctors who graduated from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto.
Idris informed the healthcare workforce that he would prioritize the sector since it saves lives.
“I will do my best to increase doctors’ and other medical staff allowances to close the state-federal allowance gap so they can stay home and serve their people.”
Idris said the administration would enhance scholarship allowances from N30,000 to N50,000 for medical students.
The governor promised to build standard hospitals in all four emirates to improve healthcare access and reduce the suffering of sick inhabitants.
Healthcare Commissioner Alhassan Yauri praised the governor for holding the reception for graduating doctors, calling it a Kebbi State milestone.
