Nigerian Breweries Plc has stated that Mr. Asue Ighodalo, the chairman, has resigned, altering the makeup of the board of directors.
This was announced to the Nigerian Exchange Ltd. on Friday in Lagos by the company secretary, Mr. Uaboi Agbebaku.

In accordance with good corporate governance, he announced that Ighodalo would step down as chairman and from the board on December 31, 2023.

“I humbly announce my resignation from the position of Chairman of the Board of Nigerian Breweries Plc, effective December 31, 2023.
“After giving it some thought, I have chosen to volunteer to serve my beloved country in the public sector.
“I am proud to have been a part of such a strong organization that is prepared to take on opportunities and overcome obstacles in Nigeria’s dynamic business environment,” he remarked.
In addition, Agbebaku declared that Sijbe Hiemstra, the longest-serving director, will serve as the company’s temporary chairman beginning on January 1, 2024, until a permanent chairman is chosen.
