30 people die as Kaduna villagers bombed during Maulud celebration

Many villagers are believed to have died as a result of a bomb purportedly launched by a Nigerian Air Force fighter during a Maulud festival at Tudun Biri, a community in Kaduna State’s Igabi Local Government Area.

Though specifics of the incident are still unclear, preliminary reports indicate that over 30 individuals were killed in the incident on Sunday at 9:00 p.m.

Residents claimed that the bomb went off while the residents were gathering in the village to remember Maulud.

“They were celebrating Maulud (birth of Prophet Muhammad) when the jet dropped the bomb, resulting in the immediate death of more than 30 people,” according to one eyewitness.
There is fear that the death toll will rise.

When contacted for comment, Samuel Aruwan, Overseer of the State Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, stated that the administration would address the media during a press conference at administration House.

“Because there will be a security meeting later, we will address the press at Government House about the situation.” So, let’s meet at 10 a.m.”
As of press time, NAF had not commented on the event.
