The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) leadership has been lobbied to desist from using its membership for personal advantage by the Confederation of All Progressive Congress (APC) support group (CASG).
The NLC’s director general, Dr. Muhammad Kailani, told the media in Abuja yesterday that the organization shouldn’t provoke the federal government because its presidential candidate lost.
“While partisan politics can be conducted within the labor union umbrella, it is unacceptable and needs to be condemned when an elected president is held responsible for his government’s failures and waged a personal war against it,” Kailani said.
Noting the significance of harmony, progress, justice, and fair play, he further asked the NLC to hold a roundtable discussion for a peaceful resolution rather than heightening tensions.
“To guarantee that Nigerian democracy flourishes, the Confederation of APC Support Groups and other well-meaning Nigerians will defend against any baseless accusations against the APC-led government,” he said.
With the NEMBE oil well currently producing 730,000 bpd that is shipped to Europe, Kailani observed that the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, led by Mallam Mele Kyari, is accomplishing impressive results. Meeting its OPEC output quota and making a name for itself internationally are goals that are in line with this.

He said, “This milestone represents a major accomplishment in the history of the NNPC and demonstrates Kyari’s commitment to the TAPE Agenda (Transparency, Accountability, Productivity, and Efficiency).” Nigerians value Kyari’s efforts at the NNPC Towers to improve the country’s economy.
Speaking on behalf of the Tinubu renewed hope agenda, CASG praised Nigerians’ forbearance and tenacity in the face of obstacles like the elimination of fuel subsidies and currency devaluation.
The Monitoring and Evaluation mechanism has been put in place by CASG in order to work with government institutions and guarantee that the N5 billion palliative reaches its intended users, particularly the most impoverished residents.
Assuring the public that the APC government is making every effort to accommodate everyone, the organization asks for patience and allays fears regarding the current state of affairs.
