Yobe Govt receives report on policy compliance in private schools

Dr. Muhammad Sani Idriss, the Yobe State Commissioner of Basic and Secondary Education, received a report on Thursday from an ad hoc committee that evaluated the state’s private schools’ policies and compliance.

The commissioner emphasized that all private schools must adhere to the state’s culture, customs, and values while accepting the committee’s report, which was given to him by Dr. Abba Idriss Adam, the chairman of the committee.

He went on to say that the state’s private schools have a primary duty to provide students with a solid education, not to put money before principle.

“To promote the education sector in the state, all private schools in the state must also abide by the policies and programs of Gov. Mai Mala Buni’s administration,” he declared.

The ministry’s stance, which stipulates that any private school that disregards these requirements faces closure by the state, was restated by the commissioner.

He also urged private school owners to register with the ministry if they haven’t already, and for those who have, to submit an application for license renewal by December 2023.

Dr. Idriss issued a warning, saying that the state’s government would not tolerate the entry of unwanted books.

We in Yobe State are proud of our culture and beliefs, and we hold morality and decency in the highest regard. As a result, we will protect them fiercely and refrain from letting bad culture corrupt them,” he declared.
