Nnajiofor Nweke, a father suspected of being responsible for the death of a teacher at Alihami Secondary School in Agbor, Ika North East Local Government Area, Delta State, has been placed under arrest by the Delta State Police Command.
The regrettable event happened on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, after the suspect’s son was disciplined for allegedly stealing palm wine.
A representative for the Delta State Police Command stated that the suspect’s son, DSP Bright Edafe, and other students pilfered two kegs of palm wine from a nearby store.
After this incident was quickly reported to the school administration, who named the students involved, they implemented a punitive strategy that included physical punishment.
The suspect arrived at the school brandishing a cane and began flogging the teachers after finding out about the disciplinary actions implemented against his child.
During the assault, one of the teachers gave way and passed away.
Edafe wrote, “Parenting gone wrong! evolved into a homicide investigation. On October 18, 2023, the father of a student at Alihame Mixed Secondary School Agbor, Nnajiofor Nweke, whose name is withheld, went to a palm wine shop with other students and is suspected of stealing two kegs of palm wine.

The students were flogged after the issue was brought to the attention of the school administration. With a cane in hand, the suspect arrived at the school in protest and began flogging the teachers.
