The Katsina State Police Command reports that in the most recent four months, from the first of June to the thirty-first of September, 2023, it has detained a total of 1005 people in connection with 853 criminal cases that have been recorded.
According to the Command, 395 of the 1005 cases are now being prosecuted in various Katsina State courts that are competent in their respective fields.
The Command also stated that during the same time period, it was successful in rescuing 171 people who had been abducted, neutralizing five people who were suspected of kidnapping, and recovering a considerable number of weaponry. These weapons included four AK-47 rifles, six locally produced firearms, and 517 live rounds of ammunition.
During a press conference that took place on Monday at the Katsina State Police Command Headquarters, the information in question was released by Assistant Superintendent of Police Abubakar Sadiq, who serves as the Public Relations Officer (PPRO). He did so on behalf of Commissioner of Police Aliyu Abubakar Musa.

ASP Sadiq stated that out of the 1005 suspects, 53 were arrested for robbery, 82 were arrested for abduction, 73 were arrested for murder, and 90 were arrested for rape. The remaining 707 suspects were detained for a variety of offenses, including possession of illicit narcotics, cultism, inciting unrest, and actions associated to gangs.
A considerable number of stolen motor cars and motorbikes were also recovered by the Katsina Police Command during the time period under consideration, according to the Public Relations Officer for the Katsina Police, who released this information.
In addition, during the time period under consideration, the Command was successful in seizing the following illicit substances: 568 sachets of D5 pills, 180 wraps of dried leaves that were thought to be Indian hemp, 23 packets of Exzole tablets, 411 packets of rebozel tablets, and 5 packs of Diezole tablets.
