Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has denied resigning from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He said this on Channels Television’s Hard Copy, a pre-recorded show that airs on Friday nights.

“I will never join another political party if I am not in the PDP,” he declared. “And I would never be a member of the APC, good or bad.”

Fayose declared that the PDP must unite its members and seek to rehabilitate the party, which finished second in this year’s presidential election.

The former governor emphasised the importance of the southern region of Nigeria producing the president, adding it would have been unfair for the northern region to do so.

Meanwhile, he advised the main opposition party against exiling former Rivers State governor Nyesom Wike.

Remember that Wike participated in anti-party activities by working against the party in the 2023 presidential election and has since been appointed as a Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) by President Bola Tinubu.

“Some people say attack Wike, expel Wike, and sack Wike. I believe they do so at their own risk. You see, even in extreme situations or indifferences, the first thing in your family is not to drive away your wife or husband. “Wike is a force in the PDP and beyond the PDP, a power you cannot ignore,” he remarked.

“Ignore Wike, sack Wike, or battle Wike at your peril.” He is a capable man,” he added.
