EFCC, Anti-Graft Agency detain 23 suspected internet fraudsters in Benue, recover one vehicle

23 alleged online fraudsters were detained on Sunday in Makurdi, Benue State, by agents of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s Makurdi Zonal Command.

In a statement posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Tuesday, the anti-graft agency stated that among the things confiscated from them were several mobile phones and a Toyota Corolla automobile.

The suspects are listed as David Uvaa, Patrick Adakole, Cyprian Aloo, Michael Anaambe, Okti Clinton, Ibi Raphael, Anaambe George, Msaasha John, Oche Edache, Anaker Terpase, Tanko Japhet, and Ayalgo Lorfa, according to the statement.

“Others include Success Terzungwe, Suursuter Isaiah, Lawani Peter, Paul Adewa, Jacob Paul, Ibi Shedrack, Iorkosu Michael, Shiedu Leonard, Terseer Mnenge, Ikyorna Raphael, and Igba Ngutor.

“The suspects have given helpful statements and will be charged to court as soon as the inquiry is over,” the statement reads.
