Lagos, Poland discuss trade alliance

The Lagos State Government has stated that it is willing to work with the Polish government to find ways to improve both the state’s and the country’s overall economic activity and development.

The Polish Ambassador, Joanna Tarnawaska, paid the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, a courtesy visit on Monday at the RoundHouse in Alausa, Ikeja.

In order to work with various Polish companies for the overall development of Lagos State and Nigeria, Sanwo-Olu stated that the state was prepared to collaborate with the Polish government through its Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Cooperatives.

The governor was represented by Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, the deputy governor, who welcomed the ambassador and her team on the governor’s behalf. The governor expressed confidence in the partnership because “there is at the federal level a government that is ready to listen and work on moving the country forward economically and financially and in all sectors of the economy.”

In her remarks, Tarnawaska stated that the Republic of Poland had very positive diplomatic ties with Lagos State and hoped to expand those ties to include trade.
