His Excellency Anderson Madubike, the High Commissioner of Nigeria to Australia, reaffirmed on Saturday that the Super Falcons’ victory over the Matildas on Thursday gave him, other members of the Nigerian High Commission, as well as the entire Nigerian community in Australia, tremendous bragging rights.
“I can assure you that we are content. Now, everywhere we go in Australia, we walk with a new spring in our step. We are proud of the Super Falcons and want them to keep winning, Madubike said in Brisbane.
The seasoned diplomat spoke as he hosted some board members and management staff of the NFF at a location dubbed “Little Lagos” in Brisbane. He and his mission staff have worked diligently to mobilize Nigerians across the vast territory that is Australia to support and encourage the Super Falcons since they arrived for the tournament.

What we have been doing for the team is nothing special; wherever they are, any mission should do these things for a Nigerian team. We are ecstatic that our meager efforts were not in vain, though. We are pleased with the Super Falcons, and we think they have what it takes to succeed, said Madubike, who has previously worked in China and South Africa.
First Vice President of the NFF, Chief Felix Anyansi-Agwu, responded by thanking the High Commissioner and his staff for being available to the team and going above and beyond to support and encourage Nigeria’s bid at the finals.
The NFF Exco members Alhaji Sharif Rabiu Inuwa and Alhaji Babagana Kalli, the NFF General Secretary Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, the deputy high commissioner Mrs. Mercy Clement, the NFF Director of Communications Ademola Olajire, the deputy director of competitions Dayo Enebi Achor, and the chief protocol officer Emmanuel Ayanbunmi were also present.
