The recently elected Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Ibrahim Abdullahi, has received congratulations from the All Progressives Congress in Nasarawa State.
Daniel Ogazi, one of Abdullahi’s top candidates for the job, withdrew from the contest on Friday after speaking with journalists about his commitment to completely support the Speaker who had held the office for the previous eight years.
The party claimed that Abdullahi’s election and subsequent swearing-in were victories for the people of Nasarawa State in a statement that was signed by the state’s publicity secretary, Douglas Otaru, and provided to our correspondent in Lafia on Saturday.
The party bemoaned that some lawmakers were to blame for the recent crisis that gripped the Assembly because they did not want state people to continue to live in peace and harmony.
