Seven people narrowly averted death on Wednesday when a Lexus RX 350 rammed into a truck that was stopped in traffic on the Lagos-Ibadan Motorway.
Emergency personnel rushed a driver who has not yet been identified to the hospital for prompt treatment after the collision, which happened at around 1pm.
Around 1:00 p.m., at the expressway’s Otedola end, the driver of the Lexus rammed into the stopped truck.
The crash was caused by speeding, according to Babatunde Farinloye, Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Lagos State. He also noted that seven people were involved in the crash.
He declared, “A mechanical issue developed in the stationary vehicle. From behind, the approaching car collided with the moving object. Speeding and impatience were the issues.
“Seven individuals were involved. Only the driver was hurt; there were five adults and two kids, but the car was severely damaged. There was no death. The victim was transported to the hospital after we sent an ambulance there.
The Lexus vehicle was stuck under the truck, and in the video that our correspondent was able to obtain, a team made up of representatives from the FRSC and the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority could be seen attempting to remove the vehicles from the road.
