Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the wife of the incoming president of Nigeria, has stated that her family does not require the wealth of Nigeria in order to survive. She also stated that both she and her husband, President-elect Bola Tinubu, require the grace of God in order to govern.
She also emphasised the importance of prayers from the Nigerian people, while assuring them that the government led by Tinubu would make the right decision.
On Sunday, May 28, 2023, Oluremi made this announcement during the inter-denominational church service that was held at the National Christian Centre in Abuja for the 2023 presidential inauguration.
The incoming First Lady of Nigeria asserts that the wealth of the nation rightfully belongs to all of the citizens of Nigeria.

Remi said that she was humbled by her husband’s victory at the polls, and then she added that it was time for the country to come together in rekindled hope and that they should anticipate the best.
She stated that God had been merciful to us in her speech. I can attest to the fact that neither you nor I ever imagined that something like this could take place. But we should give thanks to God because he has provided us with hope and the fortitude to keep running the race of life.
“Asiwaju is going to be 71 years old and I will be 63. I would wager that I would be among the oldest first ladies that Nigeria has ever had. We need God’s grace, and we need everyone to live up to the standards that Nigerians have set for them.
“Just as he did on the night of the primaries, God has really shown his worth today and put his stamp of approval on it,” she said. Because the vote count came out to 1,271, and when I saw that number, I said to God, “It means you are here.”
“I was brought to the lowest point of my humiliation. And to think that this will be the seventh consecutive democratic transition that Nigeria will go through demonstrates that the country is reaching its pinnacle of success at this time.
She also mentioned that her husband will be inaugurated on Monday, which will mark the seventh time in a row since 1999—a number that she interpreted as representing perfection.
After that, she prayed to God that they would be able to lead the nation in the right direction with his assistance.
“Perfection in the sense that, in the word of God, I remember for over two years we have been praying in our churches, according to Isaiah 43:18-19, that we should not remember the former things, that God is going to do a new thing,” said Remi. “Perfection in the sense that, in the word of God, I remember reading about how God is going to do a new thing in Isaiah 43:18-19.” Even after this new development, we did not stop arguing with God. Who is anyone to argue with their creator? No one.
The reading for today was found in Psalm 133:1-3. Lessons can’t trickle down unless there’s unity to start with. Now is the time for people in Nigeria to band together, so that we can rediscover our faith and start believing again. In Nigeria, to have hope, as our younger children have sung about here today. They are optimistic about what the future holds for Nigeria.

“The wealth of Nigeria is the commonwealth of all Nigerians. Everyone has a right to use it. My family has been blessed by God. We do not require the wealth of Nigeria in order to live, but we do require it in order to act morally. And I promise you here at this altar that with your help, and with the help of God, we will lead this nation back onto the path that leads to prosperity.
