Ortom says, “I have forgiven President Muhammadu Buhari, I implore others to do the same”

Benue State’s Governor Samuel Ortom made the announcement that he has forgiven President Muhammadu Buhari for the criticisms that have been leveled against his administration.

According to reports, the governor made this statement while being interviewed on ‘The Morning Show’ on Arise Television.

Ortom voiced his displeasure with attempts by the presidency to pin the blame for the ongoing violence in the state on his administration. He disregarded these efforts as fruitless attempts to misrepresent the facts and alter the course of history.

It is important to remember that President Buhari previously asked Nigerians to forgive him and apologised to citizens who were unhappy with his administration. He also asked for their forgiveness.

Governor Ortom announced that he has made the decision to forgive President Buhari, making reference to the teachings found in the Christian Holy Book.

He emphasised the significance of forgiveness, saying that if we fail to forgive others, it will mean that God will not forgive us either. The governor, a devoted follower of Christianity, reaffirmed his decision to forgive the President of the United States.

He told her that if she didn’t forgive, it meant that God wouldn’t forgive either. I, as a student of the Bible and as a Christian who has experienced a personal conversion experience, have extended forgiveness to President Muhammadu Buhari.

In addition to this, Governor Ortom shared his positive outlook on the upcoming administration that will be led by President-elect Bola Tinubu.

He voiced his optimism that performance would improve and urged the incoming administration to make the welfare of the populace a top priority while also ensuring their safety, fostering economic growth, and maintaining peace.

During the course of the conversation, Governor Ortom offered his advice to President Buhari, urging him not to leave Nigeria but rather to stay in the country so that he can work with the administration of Tinubu.

He was of the opinion that if they collaborated, they would be able to rescue both the state and the nation from the difficulties they were facing and bring them to greater heights.

“It is not necessary for him to travel to the Niger Republic. It is best for him to remain in this location (in Nigeria) with us. Governor Ortom emphasized the importance of all of us working together with the incoming administration. “By the grace of God, we shall go from bottom to top,” the governor said.
