Arsenal has announced a new partnership. Seun Kuti, an Afrobeat singer, was granted bail and released from the State Criminal Investigation Department in Panti, Lagos, on Tuesday night. The department is located in Lagos.

According to the information provided in the report, his attorney, Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika, SAN, disclosed the information in a telephone interview on Tuesday night.

“Yes, Meun Kuti was freed just a few minutes ago,” he confirmed.

Keep in mind that it was previously reported that the Afrobeat musician might be released today (Tuesday) after the extension of his remand in police custody expired. This is something that you should keep in mind.

According to the documents filed in the case, the Chief Magistrate granted Kuti’s request to extend his remand until May 23.

According to the document, the Sabo-Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State granted the police’s request for an extension of Seun Kuti’s detention until Tuesday (today), so that they could finish their investigation and get the opinion of the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions. The extension of Seun Kuti’s detention was granted because the police needed more time to complete their investigation and obtain the opinion of the directorate.

It had been brought to the attention of the judge by the police that the initial remand extension of two days was insufficient for them to complete their investigation.

The magistrate responded to the application made by the police by saying, “I will grant the extension. ” The document, which was obtained by our correspondent on Monday and revealed in an exclusive report, stated that the matter would be continued on May 23, 2023 for the DPP’s advice.

When the matter was called for mention, a young lawyer who was in court pleaded with the magistrate to put the matter on hold for approximately five minutes so that Seun Kuti’s legal counsel, Olumide-Fusika, SAN, who had rushed down from Ikeja, could arrive. The magistrate granted the request.

On Thursday, a source with knowledge of the situation divulged information to our correspondent that stated, “But the magistrate refused, and extended Seun’s detention until Monday.”

According to information obtained by our correspondent, the application was moved by Simon Lough, SAN, the lead counsel for the police, who noted that the extension was to allow for further investigation into the case.
