Rapper Obrafuor from Ghana has filed a lawsuit against Canadian hip-hop mogul Drake for alleged copyright violations.
The Southern District of New York District Court received the lawsuit on April 18, 2023.
Drake is being sued by Obrafour for inadvertently using a sample of his song “Oye Ohene (Remix)” in the song “Calling My Name” from his 2022 album “Honestly, Nevermind.”

Drake attempted to sample the music via email, but he was never given permission, according to the specifics of the lawsuit. Nevertheless, he made the decision to publicly release the song from his album “Honestly, Nevermind.”
Obrafour is asking for $10,000,000 (ten million dollars) in damages as well as other forms of financial assistance.
Millions of streams of the song have been generated globally across digital platforms, translating into millions of dollars.
